This lesson is all about TANGLE!! Tangle your lines, and spaces. You can create rolling hills and meadows or any fantastical landscape you want!!
Step 1: Sketch out with a pencil on any paper you have on hand (old cardboard box works great, the back of a cereal box, lined paper is perfectly fine, even old wrapping paper has a plain white side when you roll it out) The size of the paper should be the same as a loose leaf paper or larger. - remember sketching is just sketching!! no hard lines, go slow.
Step 2: Your landscape can be divided up into sections to represents sky, horizon, and land. In art, this division allows the artist to represent a FOREGROUND, MIDDLE DISTANCE and BACKGROUND. The horizon is placed between the upper area (the upper two-thirds - challenge yourself with mental math to think about what two-thirds would be!!) SEE EXAMPLE 1 below for the initial sketch
Step 3: Watch You Tube Video below EXAMPLE 1 (sketching and getting started only) Step 4: Watch You Tube Video below EXAMPLE 2 ((ink and tangling) Step 5: Post your finished work on Artsonia or email directly.
